It reeks of a frustrating bargain bin Nintendo entertainment system platformer. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a shoddy mobile remake of some unknown NES game.
Now, I don't have problems with the game's challenges per say, they are serviceable , but you made a terrible begginer gamedesign mistake, which would be really easy to fix. Death frequency should be inversely proportional to the time it takes to repeat the task you failed. Your challenges would be reasonably hard and even enjoyable if I didn't have to repeat the same I beat 5000 times before getting to the one I failed at. YOU NEED CHECKPOINTS IN A HARD GAME.
Some sound effects would not be hard to add and make a music loop beyond the, once again, NES music loop norm. You can generate or source a creative commons midi longer then you put into the game in less time then it took me to beat the first level. I wouldn't ramble on about weak theming, because I kinda like the spritework and a game could be fun even if a bit stale, but sadly 'tis not the case here.
Overall pretty underwhelming and I hope you can at least learn from this.
I really wanted to give this game a fair critique.. but I didn't find any flaws.
This is beyond addicting colony-sim thing, with interesting tidbits about a polish waterworking system.
The only thing I can think of as being annoying is stalling constructions due to lack of funds, I'd like to have an ability to sell my influence-based trinkets because donations of valid sizes only come at the endgame.
I like the core concept, it is pretty refreshing and interesting.
Game could use more variety and better themeing, which I can't hold against it since it is from what I gather a prototype, and a very well-made one in that regard.
Continue working on it, I'd like to see it made into a full game.
Yes, this is pretty much just a prototype but thanks for all the critique. I got plenty of good ideas elsewhere too for a possible full version sometime.
It is a single walk cycle with no actual game. What feedback could you be possibly looking for?
For positive, I like the sprite design, if they are drawn by the author except maybe resolution is a bit miffed for human enemies and the main char.
Game could use with better programming. In all areas. Enemy AI bugs out if you fly by it, collision detection is terrible so game deliberately doing platforming bits is downright insulting, the screen tears apart in lines sometimes and generally the whole experience feels really hastily jumbled together.
The exact thing I would like driven out of Newgrounds.
It isn't interesting, no seriously all mechanics you made are just baseline functional for what I can guess is an RPG, and most of the assets are just placeholders, or better yet- taken from an asset pack.
This is a prototype, a game you failed to make and admit it. Nothing more. There is zero point in uploading this for internet to see. For a prototype to be interesting it should be at least showing off an interesting mechanic, and for anything else- finish your games to a playable state before posting. No feedback on the current version will improve your game.
It is small and cute, I'll give you that.
Writing could use some work to be more human, and the game could use overall some touches to make it more interesting and interactive. Maybe funnier things said then exiting something off the beaten path or some small minigames not pointed out in yellow.
Thanks for the feedback! I was not familiar with the engine so I admit it's a bit limited and dull, but I will try to improve them in future mini games. :)
Like to imagine myself as a critic
